OLCNOW SHOPPING GUIDE.

The Shopping Guide provides a space to run ads and/or coupons for your business each month of a purchased quarter.  The shopping guide will be used to make coupons available to the consumer and allow ads to be viewed as well. Any business can be set up to use the shopping guide whether they list with the online communities or not. It adds value to the community websites by allowing your business to display not only your coupon offer, but also run ads for special sales or any other function. If you are having a clearance sale you can place an ad in the shopping guide in the same manner as you would for a newspaper ad. Supplement your newspaper ad with an ad that can last from one to three months and be viewable 24/7. Don't neglect your other forms of advertising. We are an additional tool. You'll still reach more people with a newspaper ad. You will capture current customers by telling them you are in the shopping guide and those who like to search the web can find the shopping guide from our community websites and search engines.

The first column contains your stylized business name like that shown above. If you have purchased an ad with us a link will connect to your business website. The second column contains your address and phone number. The third column will be used to link to your printable coupon and/or ad with a short description of content for ad or coupon. Example 10% OFF coupon or Close Out Sale ad, etc.

Newspaper Advertising

The shopping guide will use large ads (full or half page) in the newspaper three times a year if participation is high enough. The key is joining a group to feature a full page ad. By working as a group your small ad is not lost some where in the paper, but instead jumps out because it is part of a group of ads drawing the attention of the reader. Example: Even though you are not in the market for a car, aren't you drawn to look at the full page ad of cars. It grabs your attention.

Now we also let the reader of the ad know that they can also find you in the shopping guide and give them an Internet address that they can go to. Maybe they weren't looking for your business, but they will see your ad and they will see it again on the web page. Between the online communities, shopping guide, and even small ads reminding consumers that they can look for businesses in the shopping guide, your name recognition improves and there in lies the beginning of future sales. One or two ads a year do not attract  a customer as much as seeing your business name any time they come to our website. There are no guarantees that this or any other form of advertising will increase your sales.

The tentative newspaper ads will be set to happen three time a year: December (winter), March (spring), and September (fall). Small ads about the shopping guide will hopefully be placed during the other months. Again it will depend on participation in the Community websites, shopping guide and the full page ads. The larger the group the larger the campaign will be. Remember your business is always dependent on the other businesses in the community. Fewer local businesses means less consumer traffic as they move to the larger cities to find what they could get locally.

Shopping Guide format is subject to change as we develop. Any changes will be posted on our business website. Costs for using any of our newspaper ads are a fixed fee due to publication costs of running ads with the newspaper. Currently we are focusing our ad placement with the Reminder which covers Hastings, Middleville, Caledonia, Gun Lake, and Shelbyville.
